Victoria Beckham. Victoria Adams was born on April 17, 1974. Her parents ran a thriving wholesale business, but the trappings of their success caused problems for her as a teen- the average kid in England doesn't have a swimming pool, or get dropped off at school in a gold rolls-royce, and her peers gave her a tough time. At 16, Victoria enrolled in a three-year drama course, and later worked as a part-time singer and promotion model. In 1994, she was one of 300 young hopefuls who auditioned for a new all-girl vocal group that was forming... Within a short space of time, The Spice Girls were a pop culture phenomenon, topping pop charts the world over, starring in a movie that grossed $75 million, and generating a fortune in merchandising spin-offs. Victoria, Mel Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton, and Geri Halliwell- or Posh, Scary, Sporty, Baby and Ginger, as they were dubbed- became the most famous young women on the planet. Following Geri's departure in 1998, The Spice Girls continued as a quartet, before putting the group on hiatus to concentrate on solo projects. Recently, Victoria has become increasingly involved in fashion. Victoria married soccer star David Beckham in 1999 in the fairytale settings of an irish castle. "Posh and Becks" who now have three children together, have become showbiz royalty in Europe, and look to extend that status in the United States, if the media fervor that greeted David's signing to the L.A. Galaxy soccer team is any indication.
