Brandon Flowers of the Killers Brandon Flowers was born in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 21, 1981, raised in Nephi, Utah, he returned to Las Vegas in his teens, and formed his first band, Blush Response. But when Brandon declined to move with the band to Los Angeles, he was jettisoned from the group. He was working as a casino bellhop when he answered guitarist Dave Keuning's local Newspaper ad. They called their band The Killers, a name inspired by the fictitious group in the video for the New Order hit "Crystal" The original bassist and drummer were soon replaced by Mark Stoermer and Ronnie Vannucci Jr. By the Summer of 2003, the band was attracting record company interest, which led to a deal with a British indie label. The U.K. music press and BBC Radio began to champion the Band. In 2004, The Killers enjoyed hit singles on both sides of The Atlantic, and their Debut album "Hot Fuss" went on to become a British number one and U.S. top 10 Smash, earning a slew of industry award nominations in the process. In 2005, The Killers played some huge concerts, including the U.K.s famous glastonbury festival, the Live 8 concert, and they supported U2 on tour in Europe. The band's second album, "Sam's Town" was released in late 2006, to much acclaim and worldwide chart success.
