Her first single was a collaboration with pop star Keizo Nakanishi in his native Japan, when she was 14, before she was 21, Christina Aguilera had sold more than 20 million records, won three grammys and cemented her place in pop music legend. Born on December 8, 1980, in Staten Island, New York, and raised in Wexford, Pennsylvania, Christina Aguilera was only 7 years old when she appeared on the TV talent show "Star Search" although she didn't win, her appearance on the show made her a minor celebrity in Pittsburg. She made appearances on local TV and was asked to sing the National Anthem at Pittsburgh Steelers football and Pittsburgh Penguins Hockey games. Her big break came in 1993, when she she joined the cast of the Disney Channel's "Mickey Mouse Club" alongside a young, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears in 1998, Christina was selected to perform the song "Reflection" on the "Mulan" soundtrack a minor hit, the song was nominated for a golden globe award. Released in 1999, her self-titled album was a multi-platinum worldwide sensation, thanks to such hit singles as "Genie in a Bottle" and "What A Girl Wants" In 2000, she topped the latin charts with her spanish-language album "Mi Reflejo." In 2001, she teamed up with Lil 'Kim, Mya, and Pink on "Lady Marmalade" a chart-topping single in more than 50 countries! With her next album, 2002's "Stripped," came a dramatic change of image, Christina adopting a raunchier approach, the album stayed on the world's charts for two years, spawning hits such as "Beautiful" With her third major English-language album not scheduled for release until 2006, Christina has contended herself with collaborations, releasing singles with Nelly, Missy Elliott, and Herbie Hancock. Since 2004, she has toned down her wild image. Christina's transformation was completed in November 2005, when she married Music executive Jordan Bratman in Napa Valley California.
