Angelina Jolie She is an Oscar-winning actress, regularly voted one of the most beautiful women in the world, who commands $20 million a movie. Angelina Jolie Voight was born in Los Angeles on June 4, 1975, the daughter of actors Jon Voight and Marceline Bertrand. She attended the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute from the age of 11, and later majored in film at NYU. Early in her career, she worked as a model and also appeared in a number of music videos. She starred in the low-budget 1993 sci-fi movie "Cyborg 2" and starred opposite British actor Johnny Lee Miller in 1995's "Hackers." The couple married in 1996, although the union was short-lived. Her starring role in the 1998 TV biopic "Gia" brought her acclaim and acres of press coverage, and her superb performance the following year in "Girl, Interrupted" earned her the best-supporting actress oscar, her subsequent work has ranged from the dark thriller "The Bone Collector" "The World of Tomorrow" from the epic "Alexander" to the animated"Shark Tale" she has twice starred as the all-action Lara Croft, and she hit box office gold in 2005 opposite Brad Pitt in "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" Her second marriage to "Pushing tin" co-star Billy Bob Thornton, ended in divorce in 2003, leaving Angelina to raise their adopted son, Maddox Chivan Thornton Julie, who was born in Cambodia in 2001. Angelina adopted a second child, an Ethiopian girl, in 2005. A dedicated humanitarian, she has been a goodwill ambassador for the united nations high commission for refugees since 2001 and is renowned for her charitable work. In 2005, in honor of her efforts on behalf of the environment, Angelina has made a citizen of Cambodia by decree of King Norodom Sihamoni.
