Born in Kentwood, Louisiana, on December 2, 1981 Britney Jean Spears was an 11-year-old veteran of TV commercials and stage shows where she became the youngest performer on the Disney TV series "The Mickey Mouse Club" the cast also included Christina Aguilera, and future 'N Sync stars Justin Timberlake and J.C. Chasez. After two years on the show, Britney headed home to Louisiana. But she still had dreams of stardom and at 15 she began making the rounds of New York record labels. An audition at Jive Records led to a record deal. Propelled by a smash-hit title track, 1999's "...Baby One More Time" quickly became one of the most successful debut albums of all time! She swept the 1999 MTV Europe awards and her follow-up"Oops! ...I Did It Again" and "Britney" were also global hits. When "In the Zone" was released in 2003, she became the first female artist in history to have her first four albums debut at the top of the U.S. charts. In 2002, around the same time she made her movie debut in "Crossroads" Britney's four-year romance with fellow pop idol Justin Timberlake, fizzled out. In 2003, she stunned her fans with a whirlwind Las Vegas marriage to a childhood friend. The impulsive union was soon annulled, and in late 2004, she wed dancer, Kevin Federline, the pair celebrating the birth of their first child a year later.
