Actor, Director, Producer, Writer, Stuntman, and Choreographer, Jackie Chan has achieved his dream of global stardom- and in the process, broken both cheekbones, his jaw, his shoulder, his ankle, and most of his fingers. He's also broken his nose three times, and his skull is patched with a steel plate. It all goes with the territory when you're the biggest action star in the world today! Jackie Chan was born Chan Kong-Sang in Hong Kong on April 7, 1954, the family later relocating to Australia, when Jackie was 7, he was sent back to Hong Kong to attend the China Drama Academy, where he was schooled in acrobatics, music, mime and Martial Arts, training as much as 19 hours a day. Jackie was chosen to be a member of a school troupe called The Seven Little Fortunes, they became stage stars and appeared in a number of Chinese movies, like Jackie, troupe members Sammo Hung Kam-Bo and Biao Yuen went to achieve fame in Asian film ("The Three Brothers" even starred together in a number of popular movies.) Jackie began to establish a reputation as a gifted movie stuntman and martial artist, Following the sudden death of the legendary Bruce Lee in 1973, Chan emerged as Asia's biggest action star, combining his martial arts skills with slapstick comedy and balletic grace in a series of box office smashes. With each movie, the stunts got more daring and the on screen mayhem even wilder-until, finally, the rest of the world was ready for Jackie Chan. "Rumble in the Bronx" was a hit in the United States, and he was honored with an MTV Lifetime achievement award. His 1999 comedy opposite Chris Tucker, "Rush Hour" was a critical and commercial success, spawning a hit sequel and paving the way for the likes of "Shanghai Noon" "The Tuxedo" and "The Medallion."
