When she was dropped form the cast of Michael Chilkis sitcom "Daddio" before the pilot had even aired, 12-year-old Hilary Duff, considered quitting showbiz. But her Mother urged her to stick with it, and a week later, the young actress landed the lead on the TV series "Lizzie McGuire." The show became a springboard for a meteoric career that has seen Hillary conquerer the worlds of television, movies and pop music. "Daddio" meanwhile, was canceled after just a handful of episodes... Born in Houston on September 28, 1987, Hilary Ann Duff was 6 years old when she performed alongside her older sister Haylie in a production of "The Nutcracker Suite" the girls subsequently moved to Los Angeles with their mother, to pursue acting ambitions, while their father stayed home in Texas to run the family business. Following parts in a TV commercials, Hilary made uncredited appearances in the 1997 TV mini-series "True Women" and the movie "Playing by Heart" before landing the starring role in the 1998 movie "Casper Meets Wendy." More TV work led to the lead on the TV series "Lizzie McGuire." The show was a huge ratings success for the TV Disney Channel and established Hilary as a teen star! The title role in the television movie "Cadet Kelly" was followed by the 2003 hit film "Agent Cody Banks" opposite fellow teen star Frankie Muniz. "The Lizzie McGuire Movie" was a box office hit that also boosted her fledging music career, thanks to the hit spin-off single "Why Not" that same year, "Metamorphosis" propelled by the hit single "So Yesterday" topped the U.S. and Canadian album charts. Hilary's star has continued to rise, as the likes of "Cheaper by the Dozen" and "A Cinderella Story" have kept her movie career hot, keeping face with her chart-storming musical exploits.
