Arlo and Janis Greatly influenced by the advent of the European union, the border between Ireland and Northern Ireland has been open and peaceful for almost an entire generation! Practically speaking, when the United Kingdom leaves the E.U., the border again would become a traditional international border, at least in an economic sense! This has made everyone nervous! Unexpectedly, it has become the most serious issue facing 'Brexit'! Both Northern Ireland and Ireland would like to see things unchanged! The E.U. agrees and would grant special economic status to Belfast but not to the U.K. as a whole! London rejects special status for Northern Ireland alone! No one knows what will happen.
