Arlo and Janis Arlo: Drum roll, please! Arlo Janis: Welcome to the "Arlo's Age" Contest award ceremony! Response was fabulous! We only regret pitting our wonderful readers against one another for a crummy t-shirt. We wish we could give you all a crummy t-shirt! Thank you!! Arlo: And now, SPOTLIGHT! 42 Yrs. 5 Mos. or 42 Yrs. 6 Mos. or anything between The correct answer came to something like 42 years, 5 months and about 20 days. As many of you were kind enough to point out, the instructions asked for Arlo's age to the month, leaving rather vague the treatment of the partial month. Some might think this was because the puzzle was hastily constructed. No, no, no! This was to provide a margin of error to enable more readers to be eligible for the tee-shirts. Anyway, that's our story, and we're sticking to it. The tee-shirts have been sent to the winners, who, by now, are polishing furniture with them. We want to extend a special thanks to those who included exhaustive mathematical calculations and torturous explanations. Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you!!! The decision of the judges is final, even if it's wrong. If you disagree, please don't contact us. We are, quite frankly, sick of thinking about Arlo's age. Arlo: This involves converting pounds to kilograms... Janis: HEY!
